Surprise!

Andrew and I had a busy weekend, culminating in returning to Pullman (from Seattle) this afternoon.

On Saturday we did our own things - Andrew had to drive a cab all day and I walked with the Guys and Dolls cast in the University of Idaho homecoming parade. It was cold, windy and rainy but Vandal fans came out and didn't let the weather bother them. The cast put on our costumes, marched down main street to the tune of the showbands and passed out candy and fliers to the onlookers... it was fun, believe it or not!
After the parade my friend Shannon invited me to hang out with her in Lewiston. So we drove down and had a girl's day. We hit some major jackpots: the biggest one being a great clearance sale at JC Penny. We were very impressed with what we saw and what we went home with. And the JC Penny was clean, open, well stocked, organized.... not like the ones we've got on the west side. It was a pleasant surprise.

(Speaking of surprises)

Andrew bought some snow tires for his truck... in Bothell. He found some guy on Craigslist and it was a great deal, so we planned to drive out to the Seattle area on Sunday morning (early) and come back Sunday night. I wanted to surprise my parents by stopping by, so I collaborated with my sister and we figured out a nice way to trick them. I (cleverly) told them I was having a four-legged surprise delivered on Sunday at around noon and they all needed to be there when it was dropped off.

*The icing on the cake: CJ had just surprised them when she brought home a kitten the day before*

After breakfast with Andrew's family, my sister helped us sneak in the house so Mom and Dad didn't hear us, and we got them good! Mom didn't even realize it was me talking to her instead of CJ. The five of us left the little kitten to sleep in his cozy box and we ate lunch at the Olive Garden. When we came back to the house, more kitten-watching commenced and I realized I have no self-control when it comes to kittens. I could easily be that hoarder on tv who ends up with 75 cats she doesn't know what to do with.
It will be my lifelong battle.

Well, after visiting we were planning on smuggling the kitten home driving home to Pullman, but the weather over the pass was terrible so instead of driving it in the dark, we figured we would spend the night and leave the next morning (today). Even then it was bad, there was so much standing water on the road. Eventually we made it back home, I put the house back in order (I think the cats were mad at us for spending the night and not telling them), and hopped in the shower so I could head to work. (In the shower I found the missing roll of toilet paper... someone was bored).

Andrew had to go to only one class and I was only at work for three hours but today feels like the longest I've had in awhile. I also got some laundry done, ate a tuna sandwich, had rehearsal and wanted to knock this out before the clock struck Tuesday.

Is it Friday yet?
Geez.

Anyway... good night everybody!
Max wanted in on the action too - here he is cuddling up to a dozing Andrew : ) Appropriate, no?
