It's the beginning of a new year... already. I have no idea how 2011 passed so quickly. The years seem to go by quicker and quicker the older I get, and I'm hoping this isn't a continuing trend. A quick cliche year-in-review is in order I think:
- Started my job at Babies R Us and learned many valuable lessons, such as: I don't like working retail, which breastpumps are best, which carseat to invest in, how many bottles kids actually need versus how many parents assume, and what I look for in great management.
- Helped plan a wedding.
- Turned 21.
- Went through with the wedding, even after helping plan it.
- Had a honeymoon and learned many valuable lessons there too, but won't go into further detail.
- Moved to Pullman, WA, five hours away from the only people I've lived with for 21 years.
- Began my life as a vet-med student spouse: we are a special breed.
- Found my new job in the career I went to school for.
- Made new friends.
- Celebrated holidays for the first time as a married couple, although our Christmas didn't include a tree, gifts to each other, or family... mostly because of the next bullet point.
- Had my first car troubles.
- Had my first pregnancy scare, (probably the most worried I'd been in a long time).
Quite exciting, although I'm genuinely looking forward to 2012. Already it is shaping up to be a great year! Tomorrow the 2nd will be our six-month married benchmark, we are planning a trip to Schweitzer mountain this winter (and we'll do Christmas then), in six more months Andrew and I will celebrate our first anniversary, my sister will get her driver's license and start her senior year of high school, we are hoping to move again and hopefully bring some babies into our home (of the animal variety), and so many more experiences I haven't even thought of.
As of yet I have no new year's resolution, and neither does Andrew. We have goals, but nothing as pressuring and absolute as a resolution, so not so disheartening if we don't accomplish them, lol. I have a bikini I purchased and hope to fit into by Summer, and Andrew has another semester of vet school leering at him from the other side of Christmas break. I am trying to take more pictures and write a little more than previously, and as of right now, I can't think of any more. Andrew and I are pretty content here, albeit a tad bored and homesick, but what else do you expect of life on the palouse?
Hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year's Eve! Of course we Rocco's stayed in and celebrated, but 2012 rolled in after we had already fallen asleep, I like the year already : )
Ciao!
